Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are opening up about the legendary band’s 25th album, Foreign Tongues. Mick and Keith made it clear they may not be done yet. Their original plan was to use leftover tracks from Hackney Diamonds for the new album, but Jagger says new songs quickly took over. The final album features 10 brand-new tracks, four from earlier sessions—with plenty still left in the vault.
That overflow keeps the door wide open for a possible album 26 for the Stones. Mick says the band leaned into what felt fresh to them instead of revisiting older material, even if some songs didn’t make the cut. Foreign Tongues doesn’t seem like a wrap-up—but the latest chapter in the storied band’s history.
Keith Richards says don’t overthink the lack of a tour. He says a massive run of dates doesn’t right at this time—too many gaps, not the right flow—so their focus shifted to finishing the record. When he was asked about a tour, Keith said: “We’ll talk about it later.” For now, the next big date is locked—July 10th for the release of Foreign Tongues.
