Federal officials have issued a bulletin warning about possible acts of domestic terrorism over the July 4th holiday. The FBI and the Homeland Security Department are urging law enforcement officials to remain vigilant for suspicious activity, though no specific threats are noted.
Titled “Large Crowds at Independence Day Celebrations and Parades Present Attractive Targets for Violent Extremists,” the bulletin said there are no known specific threats, but notes that “previous attacks in the homeland have happened with little to no warning."
And we're not talking about 'sleepers' - the warning talks about white supremacists and other political radicals in the U.S. who may be plotting violent attacks. The FBI is reportedly investigating nearly one-thousand suspected domestic terrorists.
