The Rascals' Gene Cornish publishes a memoir

Gene Cornish has become the first of The Rascals to publish a memoir.

Taking its title from the band's first number-one hit, Good Lovin' - My Life as a Rascal (written with Stephen Miller) follows the Canadian-born guitarist from his childhood in upstate New York to worldwide 1960s fame, the band's breakup, their reunion in 2012 and everything in between.

Cornish kicked off promotion for the book with a Facebook Live Q&A with fans.

Gene Cornish asked about The Rascals being the first blue eyed soul band recently on a Facebook Live conversation. He said,

"We were called that by DJs, first of all, and then fans. There was a couple of blue eyed soul acts out there. There was The Righteous Brothers, The Rascals, Mitch Ryder. Very honored to be... funny thing is, I'm the only one with blue eyes in the band."
