Don't expect to see Huey Lewis and the News on stage anytime soon. Or maybe ever again,
Even with a new single out and a new album on the way, he tells San Francisco's Chronicle that he remains sidelined by Meniere’s disease. "My hearing fluctuates episodically from bad to almost deaf... When it’s simply ‘bad,’ with the use of my earpieces, I can hear speech." He hopes the fluctuation "is a good sign" and that he "can improve enough to hear music and sing."
Huey keeps busy playing golf, fishing, hunting and horseback riding. He is also developing the musical The Heart of Rock and Roll, which was staged last year in San Diego last year. Lewis hopes to see it play other cities in 2020.
