Daily Mail has shared another revelation from Elton John’s upcoming memoir “Me.” In the latest excerpt from the book, the music icon recalls how he “hijacked” a Rolling Stones concert back in the 1980s.
The music icon was battling drug addiction at the time, and that played a part in him overstaying his welcome after being invited to play “Honky Tonk Women” at the show in Colorado. While high on cocaine, Rocketman continued jamming out with the band on stage… and he’s sure Keith Richards wasn’t happy about it.
Luckily for Elton, he didn’t stick around for the after-party to find out for sure. “I thought Keith Richards kept staring at me because he was awestruck by the brilliance of my improvised contributions,” Elton writes. “After a few songs, [I realized] the expression on his face was really suggestive of profound musical appreciation.”
