REO Speedwagon's Bruce Hall talks about being home in Florida

REO Speedwagon bassist Bruce Hall has checked in with fans to discuss how he's handling being stuck at home in Florida.

Hall says, "I've already fixed the gutters and a broken sprinkler pipe. I've mowed and weeded the lawn at our lake house and pressure washed our boat.

"I LOVE to fish, so I take my golf cart out and fish the ponds in our neighborhood pretty much everyday. Our lake house is not far, so I can easily drive there to fish out on my boat too.

"I practice and play guitar everyday to keep my calluses intact and also just because I love to play and write music."

He was asked: Any long overdue projects you're finally going to tackle?

BH: "I've still got Christmas decorations all over my garage! I need to get all of that up in the attic and then really clean the garage good! I don't even know what's in there, ha ha."

Is this pandemic making you think twice about how you will live your life after (and if) we're given the all-clear?

BH: "Honestly, I don't think it would change much. People come up against all kinds of struggles every day. Our family has been through a lot, most recently with my oldest son's battle with cancer. Through his surgeries, chemo, appointments...we really all tried to keep things as 'normal' as possible. He kept working and going to college, so my wife Kim and I kept working, too. We all figured out how best to continue forward as a family. I believe the minute you start to think something won't get better, it's easy to go down a dark path. So, to answer the question...not really. Every day is a gift and I'm really looking forward to shaking hands and hugging people again. It's hard for me not to right now. That being said, I really can't wait to fire up the Speedwagon and get back out there doing what we all love to do."

Do you agree with the decision to postpone concerts, sporting events, etc.?

BH: "As much as I hate it, it had to happen. I do agree with those decisions. To act like this is 'nothing' is ignorant in my opinion. Keeping our crew healthy and safe is always a priority. Keeping our fans healthy and safe should always be top of mind. I would hate to think that someone became sick because they came to one of our shows."

Any words of advice to your fans during this difficult time?

BH: "I actually have some really good advice! They should: Keep Pushin, Roll with the Changes, Ride the Storm Out, Live Every Moment & Love Everyday! Seriously, stay positive and remember this is just a small moment in time in the grand scheme of things. Know the Wagon will be back and we will all celebrate together on the other side of this pandemic."
