When Geneva Logston got lost during an evening walk, things went from bad to worse in a hurry. The Kentucky woman says she didn’t recognize anything around her and couldn’t think of how to get home. In her confusion, she slipped and fell, hit her head and was knocked unconscious.
She also didn’t have her phone and her family was getting worried when she didn’t return. They launched a search that lasted two days, untilPocket, a search-and-rescue terrier with KYK9 was called in to help. The small dog found her in the woods and her handler,Jennifer Hall, says Pocket saved Geneva’s life.
She was treated for minor injuries at the hospital and recently got the chance to reunite with her rescuer. When Geneva saw Pocket again, she was overcome with emotion and was able to manage a simple message for the canine: “Thank you!”
