Ron Dante says he's "always happy to see The Archies' 'Sugar Sugar' used in commercials." The legendary vocalist is especially pleased since Applebees, which just licensed that 60’s classic, is one of his "favorite places to eat."
Dante adds, "This is not the first time they have used 'Sugar Sugar'. A while back they used it for their Honey of a Deal campaign. I think I have a big fan at their advertising agency."
Ron recently released the double-CD set Ron Dante's Fun House. He says, "It's got a bunch of my cartoon series songs, including The Archies, Spiderman and the very first Asian American cartoon show, The Amazing Chan and The Chan Clan.... I also included sides with some of my friends Andy Kim, Bruce Johnston of the Beach Boys and the original girl voice of the Archies, Toni Wine."
