Don't expect Elton John to take a call from Roger Daltrey anytime soon. The Who singer says Elton was "arsey" for not performing at Daltrey's annual run of shows in 2018 in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust at London's Royal Albert Hall.
At that time, Daltrey said Elton "should answer his bloody emails,” adding that he had performed at three of Elton's charity events.
Elton's folks acknowledged that Daltrey reached out, but Elton had previous commitments.Elton’s camp added, "No one here has any recollection of Roger performing at any Elton John AIDS Foundation events ‘three times’ either, which makes it all the stranger.”
In a new interview with The Daily Mirror, Daltrey says, “I’ve had the same number 40 years. But when you get to Elton’s status as a monstrous, massive star… it’s not easy to get hold of these guys.”
But, he later added that he hopes Elton can someday perform for the Trust.
“Without the support of teens, neither Elton nor The Who would have had the careers or lives they have had.”
Elton has not responded to Daltrey's comments.
