An Australian TV program has issued an officially apology for suggesting that Bob Dylan had died.
It happened on the Australian morning show Today during a story about an auction that took place in Boston last week where transcripts of a series of interviews between Dylan and Tony Glover, a writer and folk-blues musician who was associated with Dylan’s circle during the early 1960s, were sold.Â
It was never actually stated verbally that Dylan had died, but a crawl that ran under the segment read: "Late singer’s documents sell for $495,000." Â
About a half hour later the show's host stated that they'd made a mistake and apologized for the error.
