David Bowie’s son Duncan Jones has reacted to a tribute cake to his late father featured on a recent episode of “The Great British Bake Off.” In the premiere episode of the show’s latest season, contestants were asked to make a bust cake in honor of a famous celebrity… and contestant Marc Elliot baked a cake of David Bowie that’s raised some eyebrows.
The cake is supposed to look like David Bowie in his Ziggy Stardust era… but it misses the mark, minus the recognizable lightning bolt on Bowie’s face. Duncan has shared his reaction “with love” on Twitter, comparing the melty cake to the infamously botched 2012 restoration of the Jesus Ecce Homo fresco painting.
The challenge also saw contestant Dave Friday bake a cake in honor of Blink-182’s Tom Delonge… and he’s shared his hilarious reaction on Instagram. “When I was younger and needed the money, I did a few hundred adult films,” he writes. “This looks EXACTLY like me at the time. EXACTLY.”
