The Bee Gees never recorded a Christmas song and Barry Gibb addressed that with the BBC.
Gibb recently told the BBC, "We've always avoided it. I think it was appropriate maybe 50 years ago. These days I think it's too much of a marketing trick."
Younger brother Robin did release a 2006 solo collection of My Favorite Christmas Carols, but Barry added he had nothing to do with it.
Barry also said that "everyone is in place" for a Gibb Brothers bio-pic. "[Stephen] Spielberg, Paramount, the Murdoch sisters are all investing in that film." While warning that the project "could be a couple of years away," Barry is excited that Graham King, who produced Bohemian Rhapsody, is on board. "He knows how to put it together."
On suggestions that Bradley Cooper, who showed his musical talent recently in A Star Is Born, would be a good choice to play him, Barry said he wasn’t so sure. "I don't think Bradley has ever considered anything like that, but I know that if I'm involved enough with the writer I can really bring out and depict my brothers' personalities better than anyone else,” Gibb said.
