Elton John, Liam Gallagher, Roger Waters, Ed Sheeran, Robert Plant, Roger Daltrey, Radiohead and Iron Maiden are among the artists who have signed an open letter criticizing the British government over musicians' visas in Brexit.
The letter was published in the London Times and it was signed by over 100 musicians. The letter comes after it was revealed that the U.K. government rejected a visa-free touring plan for musicians and their crew which was offered by the European Union.
The musicians are asking the government to "urgently do what it said it would do and negotiate paperwork-free travel in Europe for British artists and their equipment."
They’ve also stated that without it, the cost of permits and other regulations will make "many tours unviable, especially for young emerging musicians who are already struggling to keep their heads above water owing to the COVID ban on live music."
