Elton John picked up his very first gold album 50 years ago today—on February 17, 1971.Elton’s self-titled album (which featured “Your Song”) surpassed one million in sales that week.
By the way on eBay, a "near mint...rare" copy of Elton John was listed for $200.It’s another of those great 70’s collectables.
