Evan Ross, the son of music legend Diana Ross, has been cast in a new film about Billie Holiday, The United States vs. Billie Holiday.
Diana Ross picked up an Oscar nod in her movie debut when she played Holiday in Lady Sings The Blues.
Evan has told Variety that his mom gives The United States Versus... a thumbs up. He says, "She loves it... She loves [director] Lee [Daniels], and she thought it was cinematically amazing. She thought the performances were amazing."
Evan says the movie Lady Sings The Blues is reason he became an actor. He said, “It’s so important for the story to be told again... People can watch that movie again, too. It made me first want to learn about Billie Holiday. I think the same thing is going to happen now."
