The Tears for Fears 80’s classic “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” has returned to number one on another Billboard chart after 36 years.
The1985 classic just went to number-one on the Alternative Digital Song Sales list after a week where sales jumped to 6000 downloads—a whopping 700% increase.
The song was recently featured in the movie Land, which was just released on demand. The song was also featured in the iTunes Store’s “69 Cent Pop Hits” section. The hit debuted at #10 on the Hot Rock and Alternative Songs chart after streaming totals were tabulated.
It’s Tears for Fears’ first ever appearance on that chart.“ Everybody Want to the Rule the World” was originally featured on the group’s album Songs From The Big Chair and spent two weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in June
