Tina Turner has gone on record saying the upcoming HBO documentary will be her farewell to her legions of fans.
Tina said in a video that was shot when Tina: The Tina Turner Musical opened in 2019: "I’m going to America to say goodbye to my American fans and I’ll wrap it up. And I think this documentary and the play, this is it -- it’s a closure."
Tina says that decades after leaving ex-husband and partner Ike Turner she still has emotional scars and has flashbacks to this day. Tina’s husband Erwin Bach has actually compared Tina to a “shellshocked solder.”
Tina is 81 now and was recently nominated to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist.Tina has also had to deal with numerous health issues in recent years, including cancer, a stroke and a kidney transplant. She also lost her son Craig back in 2018. (New York Post)
