The Moody Blues released one of their biggest albums, The Other Side of Life, on this day 35 years ago—April 9, 1986.It featured one of their biggest hits “Your Wildest Dreams.” We’re taking a look back at the band’s 12th studio album.
Because of the popularity of a couple of big singles, the album went to #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
"Your Wildest Dreams" was the biggest hi from the album and it peaked at #9 on the Hot 100, becoming the band’s biggest hit since 1972’s “Nights In White Satin.”
Singer and guitarist Justin Hayward talked about the video for “Your Wildest Dreams”:
"We go back ourselves to the sort of hippie time, and then the group who looks kind of like us goes back even further than that to getting your first amplifiers and equipment -- semi-pro kind of days. Yeah, when it all started. And that's basically what it's about -- that's basically what the song is about. We all came up exactly the same way to music, even if we liked different things. We were all part of basically that same generation in Great Britain. In England they do call it the rock and roll years, you know. The rock and roll generation.”
