The John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band—The Ultimate Collection will be released on April 23rd and it contains the earliest known of recording of the classic "Give Peace a Chance" among the many songs on the collection.
The audio for the song was featured in a film of Lennon rehearsing at the Sheraton Oceanus Hotel in The Bahamas back on May 25, 1969.The film also showed Lennon adlibbing lyrics for the song’s verses before Yoko Ono joined in for the chorus.
The song became an anti-war anthem and to this day is still one of the most enduring protest songs more than five decades later.
