Penny decided she’d train for the volunteer position after she appeared on an episode of the British reality show “Famous and Fighting Crime.”
Here is an excerpt from a conversation on ITV’s “Loose Women,” when Penny was asked about being an auxiliary London police officer:
Co-host: "How did Rod feel after your first night out?...
Penny: "He was anxious, of course, like anyone would be and we are putting our lives at risk, but for a very good cause. And I've got all the training I need and I feel confident now. And I said, 'Don't worry, I'll ring you as soon as I'm back to the station. But I won't be home for a while, because there's all the paperwork to do [laughs]."
