Elton John says life couldn't be better

Elton John, our most recent iHeartRadio Icon Award winner, says even though he’s had to postpone his farewell tour and he’s been locked down in England for the past year, he’s had a great year and he’s grateful.

Sir Elton said, "It's been the best year. I've never been in one place for that length of time. And it's been fantastic It's been wonderful spending time with them -- two sons and my husband. [But] still doing stuff -- radio shows, putting stuff together, doing some recordings. I've been playing on other people's records and that's been really great. I've been doing what I did before I became Elton John. I've become a session musician again."

Elton did say being off the road for a year has been "weird."

"I haven't played in public for so long now. Australia was the last time, last year, March the 7th. I haven't played in public since. So we're all itching to get back -- but only when it's safe enough of course. I think I'll be going back on the road I think in November/December in Britain and then we'll be coming to America in January and hopefully wreaking havoc wherever we go."

It looks like Elton’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road U.K. tour will start up on October 30th in Manchester, with the U.S. dates to follow starting on January 19th in New Orleans.
