ABBA have notched another major milestone. Their greatest hits collection, ‘Gold,’ has officially become the first record to spend 1,000 weeks on the ‘Official Albums Chart’ in the U.K.
The album was originally released back in1982.It spent 19 years and 12 weeks in the Top 100, including 8 weeks at #1.It hasn’t left the Top 100 chart since July of 2017.It’s currently at #17.

Gold has sold over 30-million copies worldwide. It’s second only to Queen's Greatest Hits as the biggest-selling album in the U.K. with sales of 5.61-million.
A new collector's edition of Greatest Hits could hit number-one on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart at some point this week. 86% off the new special edition’s sales so far are currently in non-digital formats, which is rare these days.
