The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and the Johnny Cash Museum have partnered up for a special exhibit to celebrate the night Johnny met June Carter at the Ryman 65 years ago.Â
It was the night of Cash’s Grand Ole Opry debut on July 7th, 1956.June Carter bumped into Johnny Cash backstage. He reportedly told June that evening that he knew he was going to marry her. That interaction has been well documented over the years.
The exhibit opens this week and features artifacts from both Johnny Cash’s and June Carter Cash’s careers and they’ll be available for viewing by fans during the venue’s daytime hours.
