Daryl Hall and John Oates finally returned to the road last Thursday with a show in Mansfield, Massachusetts—their first since February 28th, 2020.The legendary duo headlined a show that also featured Squeeze and KT Tunstall.
Hall and Oates performed a 15-song set of hits. They launched their show with the smash “Maneater” and played their way through a load hits before wrapping up with “You Make My Dreams.”
John talked about the process behind touring during the pandemic. He said, "We both wanted to be as safe as possible. Not only to protect our crew and band, but also for the audience." However, he adds that in order to do so, they're having to jump through hoops.
He added, "It's no longer one of those things where, 'Hey, grab your guitar, jump on the bus or the plane or whatever, and show up and have a ball.' It's really become a completely different experience of everything from eating and hotels and traveling and, you know, you name it. It's a whole brave new world that we're entering into and we're gonna figure it out as we go along and hopefully we can make it work."
