ZZ Top has rocketed up with an increase in sales after the death of bassist Dusty Hill last month.“La Grange” is the #1 song on Billboard’s ‘Hard Rock Digital Song Sales’ chart with 1,600 sold between July 30th and August 5th.
At number two is their 1983 classic “Sharp Dressed Man,” followed by “Tush” (on which Hill sings) at number five and “Gimme All Your Lovin’” in sixth place.
ZZ Top’s catalog streamed 12.7 million times between July 30th and August 5th and that’s up 20% from the week prior. The band also saw a 29% increase in overall song downloads and they’re up 82% in album sales.
Their latest “best of” collection ‘Goin’ 50’ is currently at #5 on the Billboard ‘Hard Rock Albums” chart with 8,400 units sold…a whopping increase of 409%.
We lost Dusty back on July 28th at the age of 72.ZZ Top is stronger than ever.
