ABBA fans have just been given what they’ve been waiting decades for as the legendary group unveiled plans for a new album and a hologram show called ‘Voyage.’ One of the most enduring groups of all time is back.
The hologram show ABBA Voyage will open on May 27th at the ABBA Arena, which is a state-of-the-art 3000-capacity arena the group had built in London. ABBA spent weeks performing their songs onstage in front of stop-action animators' cameras, which were then used to create holographic doubles.
Those figures were featured during the announcement performing the brand-new ABBA song "I Still Have Faith in You." ABBA also released the song "Don't Shut Me Down” during the announcement.
Benny Anderson said, “We’re truly sailing in uncharted waters. With the help of our younger selves, we travel into the future. It’s not easy to explain but then it hasn’t been done before. When you come to the arena you will have the four of us together with an absolutely glorious 10-piece band. And even if not in the flesh, we will be right there."
For the first time in decades we can officially tell you that a new album from ABBA is on the way. ‘Voyage’ will be released in November featuring 10 all-new original songs, including what Bjorn Ulvaeus says is “a little Christmas tune.”
Ladies and gentlemen, ABBA is back!
