The Doobie Brothers were forced to postpone seven shows on their 50th anniversary tour after Michael McDonald tested positive for Covid-19.
McDonald released a statement Friday afternoon that read, "As of today I tested negative on my latest PCR test and am feeling much better. Still a bit fatigued throughout the day and experiencing some residual shortness of breath. But overall markedly better.”
He added, "I’d personally like to apologize for the shows we missed, and reassure our audience that the band has every intention of rescheduling those performances. Again, thank you for your patience and support."
The tour is expected to resume tomorrow (Tuesday) in Kansas City.
