Elton John joined iHeartRadio with a big performance during Saturday’s ‘Global Citizens Festival,’ turning in a 4-song set, which will be his last before hip surgery.
Sir Elton performed “Rocket Man,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Your Song” and, with a new song “After All,” with Charlie Puth, from Elton’s new album, The Lockdown Sessions.
Elton postposed all dates on his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour for the rest of this fall because of an injury he received from a recent fall, which will require surgery to correct. Sir Elton wanted to keep his promise to perform at ‘Global Citizens Festival’ because "did not want to let a charity down. Being just four songs it's a very different physical undertaking to the demands of playing for close to three hours every night on tour and traveling overnight between countries."
There’s no word yet as to when Elton John will have his surgery or what will be operated on, although the word is it will be in his hip area, because of “discomfort.” Elton plans to resume his tour on January 19th in New Orleans.
