Steely Dan fans are excited to hear that Donald Fagen has been working on new music.
Fagen recently said, "The 2020 tours were postponed several times 'cause of the plague. The quarantine gave me a chance though to write some songs for a new album and I got 10 or 12 songs that I'll start recording after the New Year."
He went on to say that several of the songs are personal and the one that really stands out to him is a song called “The Stellar Bartender,” about a “very empathetic bartender.”
If Fagen does actually record and release a new album, it will be his first since ‘Sunken Condos’ back in 2012.
Steely Dan were scheduled to kick off their ‘Absolutely Normal’ tour this Tuesday in Miami, but because of the pandemic, all the Southern dates have been pushed back to next summer after the run of dates featuring Steve Winwood as the opening act.
Their fall tour is now scheduled to begin October 25th in Baltimore and will run through November 20th in Boston.
