The Beatles have just released the official trailer and poster for the new documentary, ‘Get Back.’
The 6-hour film was directed by Peter Jackson of Lord of the Rings fame. It will air on Disney+ over three nights -- November 25th, 26th and 27th.
Jackson says, "In many respects, [Let it Be documentary director] Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s remarkable footage captured multiple story lines. The story of friends and of individuals. It is the story of human frailties and of a divine partnership. It is a detailed account of the creative process, with the crafting of iconic songs under pressure, set amid the social climate of early 1969. But it’s not nostalgia -- it’s raw, honest, and human. Over six hours, you’ll get to know The Beatles with an intimacy that you never thought possible."
The documentary features, for the first time in its full entirety, The Beatles’ final live performance on top of the roof of their Apple headquarters building in London. It will also feature studio footage from January, 1969 during the recording of the ‘Let It Be’ album.
The ‘Let It Be’ deluxe reissue will be out tomorrow (Friday, October 15th).
