Mick Jagger's has officially released a new solo song. Jagger co-wrote "Strange Game" with Academy Award-nominated film composer Daniel Pemberton for the new Apple Original series, Slow Horses, which premiered last Friday.
Jagger said, “Out of the blue, I got an email from a guy I didn’t know, Daniel Pemberton.” Jagger told Rolling Stone “I’d heard of him, because he’d done quite a lot of TV and film music, English guy, and he’d gotten a lot of kudos [and] nominations for awards. He said, Would you be interested in doing this TV theme?’ I’m always up for doing something different.”
Pemberton said, "Working with Mick Jagger has been one of the most exciting collaborations of my professional career."
He added, "I think we have managed to create an incredibly unique and original titles theme and I cannot wait for the rest of the world to hear it.”
Slow Horses is based on a series of books by Mick Herron. The series follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 – Slough House on the outskirts of London.
Jagger's last solo release was "Eazy Sleazy" in 2021 featuring Dave Grohl on drums. Jagger’s last album was Goddess in the Doorway in 2001.
