Don McLean continues to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his ‘American Pie’ album and the singer-songwriter has now joined forces with heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury on a new version of the album’s title track.
Fury, who will have a match against Dillian Whyte at London's Wembley Stadium on Saturday, performed "American Pie" after defeating Deontay Wilder back in 2020, and the song has been associated with him ever since. In the song’s new version, McLean sings the verses and Fury joins him during the chorus.
The song will be played in the stadium on fight night on Saturday.
