Paul McCartney makes his return to the U.S.

Paul McCartney officially kicked off his ‘Got Back’ tour—his first in three years last night in Spokane, Washington. Sir Paul will also be in Fort Worth at Dickies Arena on May 17th.

Each show on the tour features video clips from last year's Get Back Beatles documentary, along with a horn section. McCartney will play 16 shows in all, running through June 16th in East Rutherford, New Jersey – a couple of days before his 80th birthday.

Sir Paul said, “I said at the end of the last tour that I’d see you next time. I said I was going to get back to you. Well, I got back!” McCartney also posted a video combining rehearsal footage from this tour with concert clips set to The Beatles' classic "Get Back."

McCartney talked about the set list he chose for the tour, saying:

"I just think, 'What would I want to see,' because that probably is what an average...it's not easy to define what an average fan is or an average fan of mine. But I actually do it by just looking into my own mind and think, 'What would I have to see him do?' So with that in mind, that's how we put the show together. There's some stuff I've never played before, so that keeps it fresh for me and I think that will be interesting for the audience."
