Elton John has just released another previously unheard featured on the 50th anniversary edition of his iconic 1971 album ‘Madman Across the Water.’
The latest is a 7-minute version of "Rock Me When He's Gone", which did not make the final album when it was originally released. This version features more percussion and a quick word at the end from Elton to producer Gus Dudgeon.
The 50th anniversary edition of ‘Madman Across the Water’ will be released on June 10th. The album featured all-time Elton classics including “Tiny Dancer” and “Levon.”
The album was Elton’s first to feature all five legendary members of his band -- Dee Murray, Nigel Olsson, Davey Johnstone and Ray Cooper. Nigel and Davey are still in the band to this day.Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman played the Hammond organ on three of the songs.
