Def Leppard and Motley Crue, with special guests Poison and Joan Jett, will kick off ‘The Stadium Tour’ this evening at Suntrust Park in Atlanta. The tour will also make its way to Texas later this summer.
The stadium tour was delayed twice because of covid. During their down time from touring, Def Leppard recorded and released a new album, Diamond Star Halos. Joe Elliott says the new album puts a different spin on this tour.
Joe said, "When that tour was announced for June of 2020, we'd of been going out there playing what you might want to call a greatest hits set. Now, two years later, we can go out there and actually promote a new album, which for us is so much better. It's not some kind of victory lap. We're going out there to literally promote a new record, and we're gonna go do it in stadiums."
This is Motley Crue’s first tour since what they called their Final Tour in 2015. The tour will make stops at Minute Maid Park in Houston on August 19th, the Alamodome in San Antonio on August 21st and Globe Life Park in Arlington on August 22nd.
Leppard and Motley are set to alternate on who closes each night.
