Whitesnake have just pulled out of their opening bill on the upcoming Scorpions tour, which starts August 21st in Toronto.
David Coverdale issued a statement that said, "It is with profound disappointment and a heavy heart that I must announce that Whitesnake will no longer be able to join the Scorpions on their U.S. and Canadian tour due to my continued treatment for a persistent upper respiratory infection that affects my ability to perform. This includes the cancellation of our own headlining shows as well.”
Coverdate added, "While Whitesnake will no longer be on the tour, the Scorpions will be continuing on. We wish our good friends, the Scorpions every success!!!"
The dates were part of Whitesnake's Farewell Tour. They also had to cut short their European tour short in July because of Coverdale's condition.
Whitesnake canceled a Japanese tour in 2020 because of the pandemic. They also pulled out of dates with Sammy Hagar after Coverdale had hernia surgery. That tour was eventually scrapped completely by the pandemic.,
