Michael McDonald has just released his second new song in five months. "Tears to Come" was written by McDonald with country artist John Berry.
Michael and John were recently introduced to one another by a mutual friend. Michael said the song was recorded in one day on Music Row in Nashville. He said, "We started writing the song at 10 in the morning, and by two in the afternoon we had a finished song and both left with handwritten lyrics in our pockets and did out best to remember how the song went."
Michael McDonald released a re-do of his classic “You Belong to Me,” which he wrote with Carly Simon, back in May. She had a big hit with the song in 1978. Michael most recent album was ‘Wide Open’ in 2017.
He’s currently a part of The Doobie Brothers' 50th anniversary tour.
