The Beach Boys release second song from their upcoming box set

The Beach Boys have just released another song off their upcoming box set, Sail on Sailor – 1972.

“Carry Me Home” was recorded in 1972 during the sessions for the Holland album. It was written, produced and sung by Dennis Wilson along with Blondie Chaplin. The song is about a soldier dying in the Vietnam War.

This is actually the first official release of the song, which was bootlegged by hardcore Beach Boys fans for years. Sail on Sailor - 1972 contains the albums Carl and the Passions – “So Tough” (1972) and Holland (1973), along with Brian Wilson's Mount Vernon and Fairway (A Fairytale) EP.

The full release will happen on December 2nd. It also includes an unreleased concert from New York's Carnegie Hall from Thanksgiving 1972. This will be the First-ever release of a complete Beach Boys concert from the early 70’s era with the original set list, along with unreleased outtakes, additional live recordings, radio promos, alternate versions and mixes, back up tracks and a cappella versions from those album sessions. It will also be available as a 5-LP and seven-inch EP vinyl box set.
