Cher has said she is quite comfortable dating someone 40 years younger than her. The pop icon has a new 36-year-old boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards, who is actually younger than her two children -- Chaz Bono, 53, and Elijah Blue Allman, 46.
Talking about the age gap, Cher said, "On paper, it's kinda ridiculous, but in real life, we get along great. He's fabulous and I don't give men qualities they don't deserve, you know. But he's very kind, he's very smart, he's very talented and he's really funny, and I think he's quite handsome."
Cher also talked about why she likes to date younger men, saying, "If I hadn't met younger men in my life I would've never had a date because older men just didn't like me all that much. Younger men don't care if you're funny or outrageous and wanna do stupid things and you have a strong personality. I'm not giving up my personality for anybody, okay."
Cher’s relationships in her life with people closer in age included husbands Sonny Bono and Gregg Allman, and boyfriend Gene Simmons.
She also dated actors Val Kilmer, Eric Stoltz and Tom Cruise, former hockey player Ron Duguay, former Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, and bagel baker Rob Camilletti.
