The newest “The Last of Us” episode "Long, Long Time" has boosted Linda Ronstadt on Spotify. The episode featured her early classic “Long, Long Time.”
According to Spotify, the song received a 4,900% increase in plays compared to the previous week after the episode aired. The same sort of thing happened on “Stranger Things” with the song "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush, which also had a surge in popularity and even got radio play again last year.
“Long, Long Time” was originally released in 1970 and spent 12 weeks on Billboard's top 100 list, peaking at #25. Linda Ronstadt was also nominated for a Grammy for Best Contemporary Female Vocal Performance, losing to Dionne Warwick's "I'll Never Fall in Love Again". “The Last Of Us” is streaming on HBO Max.
