The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's Fan Vote is now complete and the late George Michael was the top vote-getter with just over a million votes.
George Michael was followed in the Top 5 by:
- 2) Cyndi Lauper
- 3) Warren Zevon
- 4) Iron Maiden
- 5) Soundgarden
These artists will now comprise a “fans’ ballot” that will be tallied along with the other ballots to determine the 2023 inductees, which will be announced this Wednesday at 7am (Central).
The remaining nominees, in order of their finish in the Fan Vote:
- 6) Willie Nelson - 401,500
- 7) Kate Bush - 352,500
- 8) Sheryl Crow - 335,500
- 9) Joy Division/New Order - 332,000
- 10) The Spinners - 307,500
- 11) Rage Against the Machine - 276,500
- 12) The White Stripes - 202,500
- 13) Missy Elliott - 145,500
- 14) A Tribe Called Quest - 126,000
The 2023 induction ceremony will be held in the fall. The date and location will be announced soon.
