The first posthumous Charlie Watts album release is on the way.
‘Anthology’ is a collection of the late drummer's jazz studio and live recordings recorded from 1986 to 2004 on the albums Live at Fulham Town (1986), From One Charlie (1991), A Tribute to Charlie Parker With Strings (1992), Warm and Tender (1993), Long Ago and Far Away (1996), Charlie Watts – Jim Keltner Project (2004), and Watts at Scott's (2004).
The collection will be made available on double-CD and double vinyl on June 30th. The CD features three previously unreleased songs — "Rockhouse Boogie," "Ain’t Nobody Minding Your Store" and "Swindon Swing."
Watts once commented on the difference between drumming in The Rolling Stones and being in a big band. He said, "The only thing that is different with a band like this [Big Band] is that it's basically an acoustic band. And also the stage is a lot smaller, thank God."
