Meat Loaf's inspiring words

Meat Loaf's widow, Deborah, recently came upon inspiring words the late singer wrote three years ago. She commented, "I liked this message. It felt positive, and I felt inclined to share it with you. I hope you enjoy it." She posted the message on his Facebook page. It read:

“How do you decide what your life is gonna be?

"In your lifetime you’re given many options, many paths and many roads that you can choose. Some people choose one road, get frustrated and never choose again. Then there’s people like me who just run like crazy and if you come to a crossroads you decide which way you’re gonna go.

"I’ve made many, many decisions... The way I look at it is maybe fate is there, but sometimes you choose the wrong direction but it can never be the wrong direction because it’s the direction you chose.

"When you learn from that failure or disappointment it won’t be long until you come before another crossroad. There’s a lot of people in the world that have done that. We all do. Some have been incredibly successful. Some in theater, music, business no matter. It’s all about choices.

"Now I’ve had many choices in my life to make. Some of them were terrible, some of them were hard and I ended up depressed for a while, but I still knew it was never the 'wrong” choice'...

"I’ve had some success -- and a lot of failure -- but everything I’ve done I have given 110%. So, when I came to those crossroads, I didn’t walk down them, I ran down them.”

Meat Loaf died from complications from COVID on January 20th, 2022 at age 74.
