Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Michael Cartellone has paid tribute to the legendary Ringo Starr with a painting titled "Ringo." The painting depicts Ringo's view from behind the drums during The Beatles' iconic January 1969 rooftop performance in London.
Cartellone said, “Being a drummer myself, I am very familiar with this vantage point, which makes this painting about my favorite drummer, of my favorite band, even more special to me.”
He added, “I wanted everything to be as authentic as possible.” Cartellone also said he researched exactly what Ringo’s drums looked like and watched videos from the Get Back and Let It Be documentaries.
The painting will be on display at the Wentworth Gallery at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida coming up on July 20th.
