The Rolling Stones are getting closer to announcing the release of an all new studio album.
A source close to the legendary band said the latest clue on the release of the album is a quote from Keith Richards on the group's socials that says, "One of the great luxuries of the Stones is we have an enormous, great big can of stuff. I mean what anybody hears is just the tip of an iceberg, you know. And down there are vaults of stuff. But you have to have the patience and the time to actually sift through it."
Back In June, The Stones were in New York working on a promotional video and photos for the album.The still-untitled album will be their first containing original material since A Bigger Bang in 2005, and first studio album since a covers collection, Blue & Lonesome, back in 2016.
The album will include a few songs with late drummer Charlie Watts, while former bassist Bill Wyman plays on a track paying tribute to Watts. Wyman retired from The Rolling Stones in 1993 and last played with them during a few shows on their 50th anniversary tour in 2012.
The album will also feature contributions from Paul McCartney and Elton John. It’s expected to be released sometime this fall.
