Mariah Carey is really ready for Christmas this year

Mariah Carey admits that even she sometimes has trouble getting into the holiday spirit – but not this year.

In an interview with People magazine, Mariah says “I’ve been looking forward to this Christmas for, like, the whole year, since last year – because last year wasn’t the greatest. I’m thankful for them all, but it wasn’t my most fun version of Christmas ever.”

While she declined to get into details about what went wrong last year, the diva promises to make sure things are different in 2023, saying "Come hell or high water, this year, this Christmas, we are going to have fun.”

Mariah is known for her iconic holiday songs, such as “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” and “O Holy Night.” She has released two Christmas albums, Merry Christmas in 1994 and Merry Christmas II You in 2010, and has performed several Christmas specials and tours over the years.

This year, she is bringing her Merry Christmas One and All tour to various cities in the U.S. and Canada, starting from November 26th in Las Vegas and ending on December 22nd in New York. The tour features songs from both of her Christmas albums, as well as some surprises and guest appearances.

Mariah’s fans can catch her live in Cleveland on Thursday, December 7th, at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Tickets are available on her official website.
