Foreigner, led by Lou Gramm, has been elected for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This long-awaited recognition comes after the band's first nomination. Fans were left for years wondering why they hadn’t got the rock Hall nod. They first became eligible in 2002. Gramm expressed his gratitude and honor at being part of such a prestigious group, emphasizing that it's an accolade he doesn't take lightly.
The induction ceremony is set for October 19th at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, where Foreigner is slated to perform two of their iconic hits, "I Want to Know What Love Is" and, hopefully, "Juke Box Hero."
Joining Gramm in this honor are Foreigner's founder Mick Jones, keyboardist Al Greenwood, drummer Dennis Elliott, bassist Rick Wills, and posthumously, guitarist Ian McDonald and bassist Ed Gagliardi. Despite the passage of time and the loss of some members, the spirit of Foreigner remains strong, as evidenced by the heartfelt letter sent to their fans. In it, the band extends their deepest thanks for the unwavering support that has propelled them to this moment of glory.
Foreigner has also announced additional shows for their Farewell Tour, inviting fans to join them in spirit on the day of the induction.
