After a five-year pause, Heart is back on stage with their Royal Flush tour. The tour's first show took place last Saturday at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, where fans were treated to a 20-song set. The performance was a blend of the old and the new, featuring solo songs from both Ann and Nancy Wilson, a new song titled "Roll the Dice," and covers of David Bowie's "Let's Dance" and Led Zeppelin's "Going to California" and "The Ocean."
Heart's touring career spans over five decades, with many changes. One significant improvement is the quality of their backstage dining experience. Reflecting on the early days, Ann Wilson remembered the time when they supported Bachman-Turner Overdrive, a period marked by much less lavish backstage amenities. The contrast between then and now is stark; the Wilson sisters reminisce about scavenging for leftovers in the headliner's dressing room, where a huge Thanksgiving feast awaited after every show.
We’re glad to see Heart back out on the road where they belong. Long live rock ‘n roll!
